A FUTURE WRITER’S REVISED HALL BALLOT [UPDATED WITH RESULTS]

We’re mere minutes away from the Hall of Mess announcement, and according to online straw polls, no one’s getting in except maybe Craig Biggio.

I’ve revised my ballot a bit, and since I’ll have a vote someday, I figure mine is more relevant than most.  Also, mine’s better than everyone else’s.

Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Craig Biggio
Tim Raines
Mike Piazza
Jeff Bagwell

I wrote about my methodology here.

Again it’s likely no one gets in today, but I’m cool with that.  No inductions is never a bad thing for an institution whose exclusivity is highly touted.

Keep an eye on @elmaquino for the announcement of who gets in as well as all my other brilliant Hall babblings this morning.

UPDATE: Sure enough, no one got over 75%.  Here are the results with rounded percentages.  My picks are starred, and guys like bernie Williams who recieved less than five percent are eliminated from future contention and this list.

68% Craig Biggio*
68% Jack Morris
60% Jeff Bagwell*
57% Mike Piazza*
52% Tim Raines*
48% Lee Smith
39% Curt Schilling
38% Roger Clemens*
36% Barry Bonds*
36% Edgar Martinez
34% Alan Trammell
22% Larry Walker
21% Fred McGriff
19% Dale Murphy
17% Mark McGwire
13% Don Mattingly
13% Sammy Sosa
09% Rafael Palmeiro

  1. I’m not upset. I’m glad to see that the people saying “they don’t mind – it was an era” on the radio aren’t the people who voted. Idealism lined up with reality for once.
